Bombay Brasserie Review – Find finesse in your food

bombay brasserie adyar

Here’s a tasty treat to your platter!

Your culinary journey is incomplete if you happen to live in Chennai and don’t visit Bombay Brasserie. When it first opened, I thought it was an odd title for a restaurant, and I waited till some reviews poured in before I could go check this place out! I am glad I did. The entire place speaks of finesse and so does the food! The moment you step in, you can feel a world of difference between the world outside and the one you have stepped into. An old villa converted (tastefully) into a fine dining restaurant is not new, what is interesting here is that the quaint elegance of the villa is preserved while a few contemporary additions such as art pieces and unique urns are a new twist.

The Starters

This is one of those rare places where vegetarian as well as non vegetarian dishes are equally tasty! I am a big potato fan, which is why the first thing I ordered here was the gun powder potatoes, and then the famed galawati kebab as well as paneer ke tukde. All of it was good, and left us wanting for more.

The Main Course

Which is why we couldn’t wait to get started on our main course. It had to be paneer tikka butter masala, Chicken tikka butter masala, to go with chur chur paratha, lachha pudina paratha, and khameeri roti. Everything was more than just tasty. Coupled with the relaxed atmosphere around, it was a pleasant experience to eat all the food.

The Desserts

It was as much a treat to the senses as it was to the taste buds. So, although we were almost full after the main course, we still chose to order desserts and we were glad we did! The jalebi is never to be missed here. And if you happen to have a sweet tooth, then go ahead and try the trio of phirni as well as the shahi zaffran tukda as well!

Ambiance & Service

On a weekend, you might want to go slightly early to get a good table as well as attentive service. On the whole, everyone here is polite and it’s also a good thing they have valet parking service as well.

The Price

You can’t exactly get a fine dining experience at an affordable rate. But, they do make it worth their money here.

The Final Word

A must visit for anyone who loves a fine dining experience is a fan of authentic North Indian Food.
